Conventional Fossil: Gas and Coal

Picture
Frontier Power executives have managed the acquisition of major generating companies internationally, such as Keyspan’s 5GW of generating assets and acquisitions of other US coal and gas plant.  As a result they understand what is required to screen, conduct due diligence and execute such deals.  They have raised finance on behalf of major European electricity corporates such as Endesa and EDF and have had responsibility for the financial performance of EON’s generating plant in the UK.  This included gas, coal and oil as well as wind and biomass plant and the building of the new 2GW CCGT station at Grain with combined heat and power plant for the LNG terminal.  Overall, they have led the development and acquisition of individual gas and coal-fired power stations from planning through to operation.  In other words they know at first-hand what is required to get plant up and running and take it from the drawing board to producing electricity.

Nuclear

Frontier Power’s executives have been involved in formulating and implementing nuclear policy within the UK for over thirty years.  They bring an immense wealth of knowledge of the institutional, regulatory and economic framework which nuclear power needs to develop.  They have worked on nuclear power projects from site-search through to commissioning.

They have also advised government on the changes needed to planning and regulatory environments if nuclear power is to be successfully developed by private or public sector organisations.  And they have vast experience of developing and arguing the economic and environmental case for nuclear whilst fully understanding that safety issues need to be openly and rigorously addressed to enhance public confidence and support.
